Tribeca Green
Foundations Group retained us to complete a multi-scope glazing and architectural metal upgrade at Tribeca Green, a luxury residential tower in the heart of Manhattan’s Battery Park City. Designed by renowned firm Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Tribeca Green stands as one of New York City’s pioneering sustainable residential developments. The building’s LEED Gold status, prime riverfront location, and architectural pedigree place it among the most respected high-rise communities in Lower Manhattan.
Working in a fully occupied building, we delivered a coordinated retrofit package including custom-fabricated insulated glass, thermally broken terrace doors, a full glass railing system, and architectural windscreen panels. Every system was fabricated to spec and installed with careful consideration to phasing, code compliance, and tenant impact, ensuring long-term durability and architectural alignment with the existing envelope.
We completed and delivered the full scope on schedule and to exact specifications. The result is a seamless upgrade that strengthens Tribeca Green’s performance profile while preserving the clean, sustainable aesthetic of the original design. From high-efficiency low-E glass replacements to custom aluminum railing solutions, each component reinforces the building’s position as a leading residential development in downtown Manhattan.
Scope of Work
Ground Floor Glass Replacement
- Removed and replaced four existing insulated glass units
- Supplied new 1" IGUs with Solarban® 60 low-E coating
- Composition: ¼" tempered glass x ½" airspace x ¼" tempered glass
- Installed units ranging from approximately 1'10" to 8'6" in height
Terrace Doors
- Installed thermally broken, medium stile aluminum terrace doors
- Included ADA-compliant saddle thresholds and security deadbolt hardware
- Doors were outfitted with 1" low-E insulated glass units
- Custom finish matched existing conditions
- Openings included both single and double door systems, ranging from 3 feet to 9 feet in width
Glass Railing System
- Replaced existing railing system with CRL ARS 300 Series
- Fascia-mounted 2 ⅝ inch square posts with 200 Series top rail
- ½ inch polished tempered glass infill panels installed
- Total railing length: 584 linear feet across 49 sections
- Included custom-finished aluminum coping covers
Terrace Windscreens
- Supplied and installed metal panel windscreen system
- Constructed from 3 inch square aluminum posts and 6 inch galvanized steel floor sleeves
- Panels fabricated from 3/16 inch aluminum with custom finish
- Total installed length: 40 linear feet at 7 feet 4 inches tall
