Location: New York, NY
Project type: Residential
Product: Shower Doors & Enclosures | Mirrors Status: Completed in 2025

Aria Glass was brought on by EK Euro Group to fabricate and install a set of custom glass and mirror systems for a private residence at One High Line, the sculptural West Chelsea development designed by Bjarke Ingels Group with interiors by Gilles & Boissier. The residence required precise, modern detailing to complement its architecture, materials, and light-filled layout.

The scope included a framed steam shower with an operable transom, a full-height glass enclosure for a privacy room, three swinging tub partitions, a custom nine-foot mirrored medicine cabinet, and a backlit mirror in the powder room. All glazing was fabricated from low-iron Starphire tempered glass for maximum clarity. Hardware throughout was finished in polished nickel to align with surrounding millwork, fixtures, and the home's broader interior palette.

Each system was custom fabricated and site-fit to align with stone, tile, and cabinetry details. Framing and hardware were selected to be minimal yet durable, supporting the residence’s architectural tone without overwhelming it.

The finished installations support both visual clarity and everyday function. The steam shower enclosure in the primary bathroom is framed with 3/4" U-channel, using low-iron Starphire tempered glass and Vienna Series 90-degree offset backplate wall-mounted hinges. An operable transom allows for steam ventilation, while a 24" towel bar integrates utility directly into the system. Polished nickel hardware ties into the room’s overall finish palette.

The adjacent privacy room is enclosed with full-height acid-etched Starphire glass, offering subtle light diffusion and spatial separation. A top pivot hinge provides smooth operation while maintaining a clean visual line.

In three secondary bathrooms, swinging tub partitions were installed using frameless low-iron glass and discreet hardware to maintain openness and function. The custom nine-foot mirrored medicine cabinet in the primary bath was fabricated from 1/4" mirror and white laminated glass, framed in polished nickel for consistency with nearby fixtures. In the powder room, an LED-backlit mirror provides ambient lighting with a flush-mounted, minimalist profile.
