Tailored Shower Glass for a Greenwich Village Residence
At this Greenwich Village residence, Aria Glass fabricated and installed custom low iron glass shower enclosures for the primary and guest bathrooms. Each installation follows a similar architectural language while responding to the material palette and hardware direction of its individual space.
In the primary bath, the shower enclosure is detailed with low iron tempered glass and unlacquered brass hardware, bringing a warmer finish to the room’s glass composition. A frameless in/out swing door, 4 inch offset pivot hinges, U-channel framing, and a combination towel bar and handle create a tailored enclosure that feels precise without becoming visually heavy.
The guest bath uses a similar enclosure format, but with a darker hardware expression. Low iron tempered glass is paired with matte black hardware, a continuous header channel, U-channel framing, and a frameless in/out swing door. The 4 inch offset pivot hinge detail supports the door operation while maintaining the enclosure’s clean architectural lines.
Across both bathrooms, the glass systems define the shower areas while allowing each room’s finishes to remain central. The primary bath leans warmer through unlacquered brass, while the guest bath takes on a more graphic quality through matte black hardware.
Together, the two enclosures show how subtle changes in finish, hinge placement, and framing can shift the character of a shower system while maintaining a consistent residential design language. The result is a pair of custom glass installations that feel tailored to each bath and integrated into the broader architecture of the home.
