Two Shower Systems, One Tailored Glass Approach
At this Queens residence, Aria Glass fabricated and installed custom low iron glass shower enclosures for the primary and secondary bathrooms, with each system tailored to the layout and function of its individual bath. The project sketches list Valentino Pompo Architects and show two separate shower conditions: a primary bath enclosure and a secondary bath sliding system.
In the primary bath, the enclosure is designed as a hinged glass system with a return panel, top and bottom pivot hinges, and an 8 inch through-glass handle. The low iron polished tempered glass is supported with U-channel detailing at the curb and header, allowing the enclosure to define the shower area while maintaining a clean, minimal profile within the bathroom. A clear bottom wipe with drip rail adds functional water control at the door without visually complicating the system.
The secondary bath takes a different approach, using a sliding glass door system supported by a single Serenity Series header bar. Low iron polished tempered glass is paired with a door guide, door stopper, waterproof flat strip under the door, and a 2 inch diameter finger pull hole. These details allow the shower to operate efficiently within a tighter condition while keeping the enclosure visually restrained.
Together, the two bathrooms show how shower glass can be adapted to different spatial requirements without losing consistency across the residence. The primary bath uses pivot hardware and a more enclosed corner condition, while the secondary bath relies on a sliding system to manage space and access. Across both applications, the glasswork is tailored, functional, and closely aligned with each room’s architecture.
